High school. It was so much fun, and so dramatic, and I know when I was there I couldn’t imagine what life would be like afterward. I loved being with my friends all the time, taking photos for the yearbook, and thinking that doing the minimum to get by was cool. While I loved it, you couldn’t pay me to go back! I got sick my junior year of high school and struggled though my senior year to take care of myself and also get “my life in order” for what was to come.
included visiting colleges, and taking the ACT, and applying to do missionary work in Canada. While worrying about all of these important things we forgot to schedule my senior pictures. I remembered while sending out graduation invitations, and realized it would be nice to include a picture. I wish I had taken them. It would have captured a time that was so much simpler than life now, with a husband in graduate school and two handsome little boys. We love to look back at my husbands senior pictures and talk about what we thought the future held. Life is so different, but so much more beautiful than we could have ever dreamed up.
Senior portraits. Some seniors can’t wait to have them done, others have to be forced by their moms to get them done. Senior portraits are another costly thing on the to do list to get to graduation. The pictures are something that last a lifetime though. You will always enjoy looking back on that last year of high school, before your life changed drastically.
While scheduling a session can easily slide to the bottom of the list behind ordering a cap & gown, college applications, financial aid, and all of the “lasts” of high school, I think it’s important.
I had the pleasure of shooting Bailey’s senior portraits recently. It was freezing the morning we went out but she was a champ! We went to Loy Lake Park in Denison, trekked up the path into the woods to capture these shots. She is so gorgeous! Not only is she beautiful but she is brilliant as well. She has been accepted and plans to attend The University of Texas in Austin. We are so excited for her, and wish her the best!
